@lunarised Ah, more of a "can know" thing: engineers work with established technology, scientists also bring upon new technology. So it's not a failing of scientists, but the nature of things.
Yeah, that is another aspect, glad i asked.
@isaactly_s You mean like scrooge mcduck is quack, but still entirely too cute?
@lunarised Hmm, i doubt that safety seen in such a wide way is the most important aspect here.
If things that have a long term cumulative negative effect are being done over a long time, how much relevance do the short term effects like a hydro dam breaking really have?
I do agree that all notable changes to our environment have risks, but so does walking because you can stub your toe.
@lunarised Seems climate scientists understand very well, but are ignored. Wonder why the focus on scientists and engineers, maybe you want to talk about some aspect i didn't get from the toot?
@Gnomeshatecheese @LostInCalifornia I think it's mainly too vague.
If you handle definitions of self, everything about you and all you may do plays some kind of a role.
Thus, it's trivially true that there is more to a woman than to bear children. So that part is not making any interesting distinction. People see women after their menopause as women too, so big whoop.
Now, the biology argument runs a bit short, with respect to the many aspects. One may feel as a woman for oneself, even without the biological aspects - because feelings don't need to come from logic. I could feel as a bear, and no matter how strange others might find this, it would still be my feeling, if i had it.
Where it gets complicated is when people interact more than casually. I could wish to be called bear as a greeting, but asking them to let me shit in their yard would be taking it too far.
So, in conclusion: My feelings are mine, and some respect for them is warranted as a basis for our society to work. But when someone is affected directly, it is about them as much as it is about me, and my self definition is not enough to define what is and is not ok. Even the biology is not defining, as others might refuse something that affects them due to other aspects of me.
So all i have to say about the cited post is: too vague to say anything interesting. Just ragebait, no philosophical statement is present.
@Hyolobrika Eh, with what is already there (smartphones with non-jailbroken oses), it sounds more like the usual grift to rake in taxpayers money for no gain.
In the US it might be different, with their women-as-breeding-stock approach, the data might catch something even a relatively cautious smartphone user might have concealed.
@Alarod@mstdn.social As in other european countries too, we have a resurgence of fascism. Blaming foreigners, parties that are considered right wing extremists by state organs but no action is taken, the works. Just like last time.
Cherry on the cake is that our current gouvernment, superficially considered left of center (at least the two bigger parties in the three party gouvernment) is preempting the right wing takeover and making laws against immigrants and for surveillance.
@interfluidity As if i had much choice in the matter... :-)
@Hyolobrika @AnungIkwe Hm, lacking context.
Regarding random people somewhere else that have no material conflict with me, i want freedom of speach from them. Or better: i want to be able to get freedom from their speech if i deem it necessary.
Where there's a conflict about something we can't just walk away from (resource distribution, anything that is regarding living together in an area) the fighting things out with words makes sense.
@JugglingWithEggs This belief is starting to look a lot like denial.
@Gustodon Real weird. Why a back rub when there is a front to rub?
@bbiiirdbPhD Alert the federation on time travel. This one started with a red pen to highlight mistakes. Starting and already knowing... he's probably janeway in disguise!
@gdavidbrown Thank you!
@bitprophet Sepultura might be the solution. turn it on louder than the sillyness of work chats that only transmit the usual babble.
@maeve Lets hope not sucking our own cock is enouth. but maybe, for us to survive, others need to do the same. Quite the requirement, sounds unlikely.
@funcrunch When in indoor spaces or when many people are around me. Like, when i see a risk. No use in masking when i am alone in the wild.
@VeroniqueB99 And if i knew how to make this into a rule, kant would ejaculate. Well, can't jerk off all the patriarchs, can i?
@dkub Seek the lackey of the rich. The rich would never exert themselves, but they sure know how to issue slaps.

If i reply but did not favourite your toot: most likely i forgot. I get caught up in talking, i forget.
I generally invite questions. If you look for a clue if it is ok to ask hard questions: this is it. As long as it is in good faith and you want to know wtf i was thinking, go ahead please.
