To say "I don't know" is a sign of wisdom, to say "I was wrong" is a sign of maturity. To pretend to know something you don't really know is a sign you have neither.

If find the more often I say I don't know, the more people are convinced I know lots of things.

@mkarliner Thanks. Interesting phenomenon, isn't it? Conversely, the more they pretend to know what they don't know, the less likely that we will take them seriously.
Unfortunately, there is still a segment of the population who are more likely to believe the biggest bull-shitter.
