Nobody loves shutting out Black voters more than Republicans on the “Supreme” Court.

Joe Biden or Donald Trump will pick the next SCOTUS justice. It’s highly unlikely that there won’t be another opening or two before 2029, assuming the country would survive Trump.

I’d prefer Biden or Kamala Harris pick the next justices. If you care about voting rights or any other rights, you should, too.

Supreme Court Sides With Republicans Over South Carolina Voting Map: (gift link)

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries called on Supreme Court Justice Samuel #Alito to recuse himself from Jan. 6 cases after news that, according to The New York Times, a second flag of a type carried by Jan. 6 rioters was displayed outside Alito’s home.

Black people in SC might not be able to vote, but your concert tickets will be cheaper.

For those who aren’t aware, Microsoft have decided to bake essentially an infostealer into base Windows OS and enable by default.

From the Microsoft FAQ: “Note that Recall does not perform content moderation. It will not hide information such as passwords or financial account numbers."

Info is stored locally - but rather than something like Redline stealing your local browser password vault, now they can just steal the last 3 months of everything you’ve typed and viewed in one database.

Hilarious. Some random ass paid-for blue tick on X said Microsoft were looking to buy Valve, and loads of people fell for it. News articles even got written on it today.

Totally false, it’s news from a leak that was from 2023 (that i wrote about back then and is not a thing that’s happening.

This is the problem with paid “verification”, people see the blue tick and think they’re trustworthy.

"The Supreme Court’s decision today undermines the basic principle that voting practices should not discriminate on account of race and that is wrong," says President Biden in a statement.

I can't figure out if Clarence Thomas hates black people or white people. It's probably a separate but equal hatred.

Saw a "Divorce Your Republican Husband" bumper sticker!
Someone should make one that adds (while you still can).

A software maker serving more than 10,000 courtrooms throughout the world hosted an application update containing a hidden backdoor that maintained persistent communication with a malicious website, researchers reported Thursday, in the latest episode of a supply-chain attack.

The software, known as the JAVS Viewer 8, is a component of the JAVS Suite 8, an application package courtrooms use to record, play back, and manage audio and video from proceedings. Its maker, Louisville, Kentucky-based Justice AV Solutions, says its products are used in more than 10,000 courtrooms throughout the US and 11 other countries. The company has been in business for 35 years.

Researchers from security firm Rapid7 reported that a version of the JAVS Viewer 8 available for download on contained a backdoor that gave an unknown threat actor persistent access to infected devices. The malicious download, planted inside an executable file that installs the JAVS Viewer version 8.3.7, was available no later than April 1, when a post on X (formerly Twitter) reported it. It’s unclear when the backdoored version was removed from the company’s download page. JAVS representatives didn’t immediately respond to questions sent by email.

If you dont think Thomas, Alito, & Roberts are going to take aim at repealing Brown v Board next so White Mississippians can turn Jackson into Gaza, I think one of us is ignoring how much this court is willing to overturn the 20th century in favor of the 19th.

@rbreich The richest industry on the planet are bankrolling fascists in the USA.

Trump asked Big Oil to give him $1 billion for his campaign last month.

He promised lower taxes and to gut environmental regulations in return.

Big Oil CEOs already appear to be taking him up on the offer, inviting Trump to a fundraiser in Houston yesterday.

Be warned.

As "outside agitator" "violent protest" "hurting their own cause" and "destroying their schools" bullshit circulates, I've shared a section from my book taking these slanders apart (as they apply to looters) one by one, hoping to provide some helpful counterarguments and save you from having to re-litigate over and over all-cats-are-beautiful.ghost.i

So I might need to get a new phone, any suggestions? I don't do iPhones.

@mcc There is one way to ensure that won't happen: wipe Windoze off the machine, and install a Linux distro instead. Last laptop I got, the easiest way to prevent Windows from starting turned out to be removing the SSD and replacing it with another one I had, which was larger anyway and as a bonus already contained a copy of my very heavily customized system based on Debian. I had to convert it from BIOS to direct UEFI boot on a laptop with a buggy UEFI implementation, that took several hours but I know for SURE no corporation is going to be able to force an update to turn their spyware back on.
