Vote. Please, I'm begging you. Just vote.
Don't think you have a voice? So many elections are decided by the slimmest of margins. Your vote counts, I promise you.
@jasonxbergman I hear this line about "your vote counts" a lot in recent election cycles, but I think that is out-of-date messaging. The people I talk to who are choosing not to vote don't think their vote will be insignificant, they just think there are no good choices and they don't want to slog into #politics in order to decide which out--of-touch candidate might be unable to make meaningful changes because the whole system ins gridlocked.
I saw a political activist say to frustrated young voters "we can't move forward until we avoid moving backwards." it was the least inspiring #GOTV pitch I've ever heard.
@paolovicini For a group of young potential voters who already feel like the issues they desperately care about are being overlooked (#ClimateCrisis, #SchoolShootings, #AffordableHigherEdication) a message of you best option in 2022 is to vote for people who will do nothing to help is not going to get them to the polls. The Dobbs decision might have, if any candidate had even mentioned fixing the previous administration's #SCOTUS packing. It seems that candidates are happy to let a 6-3 super majority stand for a generation.
With perhaps the singular exception of Biden in 2022 the party of "anybody but them" has lost the enthusiasm gap and thence the election.
@paolovicini and they seem to have provided s breakwater against the predicted red wave. I hope their contribution will be remembered and rewarded over the next two years.

@antares now that the dust is settling… looks like quite a few young voters went to the polls in the end. #midterms https://www.npr.org/2022/11/10/1135810302/turnout-among-young-voters-was-the-second-highest-for-a-midterm-in-past-30-years
