I have an #MLB #Baseball question concerning starting pitchers in general and #JulioUrias in particular.
If a position player gets suspended for say 20 games, it means 20 games. But a starting pitcher only plays every 5 games. So a 20 game suspension is really only 4 games for a starting pitcher. So, does this mean that a starting pitcher counts every game between and including starts or is it just the days he would have started?
@RuthWarkentin @OgieOgilthorpe And please keep in mind as we learned with Trevor Bauer, he is not suspended right now. He is on paid leave while the league investigates. If he wants these games to count towards a future suspension, he has to give back the money. Even if a starting pitcher only goes every 5 days he loses 1/162 of his salary for every game suspended.
