Anti-#Union #ElonMusk Helped Push #UAW Toward Historic Strike
#Tesla boss and world's richest man has a long history of opposing #unionization and paying lower compensation. In order to remain competitive with Tesla, legacy #automakers are using #EV transition as an excuse to build plants in union-hostile states like #Kentucky, #Tennessee, and #Alabama. Tesla spends $45/hr for its non-union labor, including benefits, #Ford, #GM, and #Stellantis are paying $63. https://jalopnik.com/how-anti-union-billionaire-elon-musk-helped-spark-uaw-s-1850861092
I own a Tesla and I disagree with this statement. My Model 3 is superior in just about every way to the Nissan Versa it replaced. Also better than the Toyota Corolla I had before that. Over the last 10 years Tesla's have been far more reliable than comparable ICE cars, and this will continue to be the case for any #EV because there are drastically fewer moving parts.
@antares @paninid @BenjaminHCCarr I'm quite happy with my Model 3 (2019 LR from Fremont) but the paint is some of the worst I've seen on a new car and there are a few fit and finish issues (some were resolved by the service centre under warranty). The more recently built Teslas I've seen (from Germany and China) looked a lot better which is why I'll replace my 3 with another after the lease ends.
