MAN CEO: “impossible” for hydrogen to compete with BEVs

Green H2 only makes sense with excess grid capacity, and if you have decent distribution and still have fossil fuels on the grid, you can’t really say you have excess capacity, can you? Any renewable electricity used to generate green H2 is NOT displacing fossil fuels from the grid, is it? So how is it green?”
Exactly. MAN are spot on.
Green hydrogen producers need to invest and create their own dedicated supply of renewable energy, factor that into their costs, and hope they can sell it.
@antares MAN CEO is plainly lying here. His parent company has gone all-in on batteries. MAN is now in an impossible situation. A truck manufacturer can not even begin to take seriously an all-battery solution.
As a result, it is a matter of when MAN suddenly changes its mind and invest in #hydrogen trucks. They may not even acknowledge that they ever opposed hydrogen trucks.
