I made this sheet metal box with hand tools -- I've never made anything out of sheet metal before, it took about 30 minutes using shears, a long brake, a finger brake, pop riveter and seamer.

Social.Coop, like all Mastodon instances, is what you make it by following, favoriting, boosting, listing, and above all tooting, replying, and DMing. Every player is a conductor.

For me, about 30% of the content involves some kind of ongoing engagement in conversations about collective action of one kind or another: cooperatives, commons, social.coop itself, and various projects. So Mastodon is serving as an organizing center as well as a very permeable community of interest and affection.

El I Congreso de la Asociación Internacional de los Trabajadores (AIT) se celebró en septiembre de 1866 en Ginebra, culminación de un largo proceso. Estuvo integrada por partidos, sindicalistas, socialistas, anarquistas y asociaciones obreras de variado signo. Este Congreso tenía por finalidad estrechar los lazos de solidaridad entre los trabajadores y trabajadoras de todo el mundo, sosteniendo: “Que la emancipación de los trabajadores debe ser obra de ellos mismos, que sus esfuerzos por conquistar su emancipación no deben tender a constituir nuevos privilegios, sino a establecer para todos los mismos derechos y los mismos deberes”.
Las grandes tensiones, fruto de las diferencias programáticas existentes entre Marx y los partidarios del socialismo, por una parte, y los partidarios del anarquismo colectivista, por otra parte, llevarían años más tarde a la escisión histórica entre ambos sectores.
