Just dropped a submission now that @kmarsdentattoos (on IG) has opened her books for tattooing. Fingers crossed!

@Justanotherpiercer Oh, and a jeweler, too! For piercings, I haven't messed with much other than stone plugs and silver work for my own amusement. I should fix that!
@Justanotherpiercer I got you on #tarantulas (c. versicolor & m. balfouri) and #piercings (though I've really only kept lobes & septum)
@Gargron I, being new, asked if people wanted CWs if I post pics of my tarantulas. Many thought it would be nice. I was going to, because why not? But the more I think about it, I don't want to make extra clicks to see pretty spooders. What I can do, for both those that definitely want to see Ts as well as those that don't, is use a hashtag.
Don't like spiders? Exclude the hashtag from your feed.
@ch33sl3y I get it--I tend to be surprised by some people's inability to self moderate, and exposure therapy is a thing. I'm less concerned about those who think they're creepy, but would feel bad if a true (i.e., clinical) arachnophobe had a bad day because of me.
I cannot tell you how happy I am that #Mastodon loves #torcs ! ❤️
I really do appreciate all your likes, boosts, follows and chats.... it's good to torc! 😉
Here's a photo of the best known, the #Snettisham Great torc, which was ploughed up in 1950, and can be found on display at the #BritishMuseum
Weighing 1084g, the neck ring is made from 64 wires, twisted into 8 springs of 8 wires each. The terminals are hollow and made from sheet gold.
@ch33sl3y Have you heard "Fish" from the old 4AD compilation, Lonely Is An Eyesore? The album title comes from their song, too.

@pauljnorris purty!
@ch33sl3y a cutie for sure! You might want to consider a CW next time, for the ooked-out to arachnophobe spectrum ;)

Two things that are really important on here:
♿ Add text descriptions to your images/videos/audio. Accessibility is fundamental. More info: https://fedi.tips/mastodon-and-fediverse-accessibility-tips/#HowDoIMakePostsMoreAccessibleToBlindPeople
⚠️ Use Content Warnings on anything that people may not want to read right now. It could be upsetting like violence or politics, mild like movie spoilers, but either way it shows empathy and consideration for strangers. More info: https://fedi.tips/staying-safe-on-mastodon/#UsingContentWarnings
These features are key to keeping this place friendly. Please use them. 🙏 ❤️
@pauljnorris @gail Huh. Not a spider or parasite (to my eyes), but definitely an arachnid. Maybe something from the Ricinulei order? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ricinulei
@ryand3rk Going private might save him from the SEC, but not the FTC!
@tzerenij because it couldn't leaf you alone
@freemo also, instances don't call for genocide. Users call for genocide, through their toots & boosts.
Besides, even if an instance's entire user population calls for genocide, someone needs to keep an eye on that crap.
@freemo I very much appreciate this logic. I'm glad I chose qoto.
@WhatYouMcCallit I've had people do that exact thing to me. I'm a Gen Xer and like my bubble slightly perforated, especially since I know places like FB do everything they can to only show me things they think I like. So, when I didn't unfriend someone who had apparently been a [body part] to others, I myself was unfriended. Basically for not joining the boycott.
Granted, I'm entitled by many definitions, so hate speech is not as deeply wounding to me. I get that it is for others. But sometimes it's handy when some of us know what kind of evil crap is out there. Sun Tzu never encouraged anyone to refuse to even look at their enemies.
I cut stones, raise a daughter, feed animals with 4-8 legs, ride a bike, and do nerdy stuff at work. And at home.
