I am a mathematician and cognitive scientist by training and troublemaker by inclination. I have been following the mastodon universe from the sidelines for a while now but a recent article made me create an account at one mastodon site which led to the next one and the next one and since then I have been following a trail of interesting sites and people.

As a complete n00b here, I am at your mercy. Tell me what I should know and who I should follow!

@arkayar That's a great write-up.

Beware, though, there certainly is an outrage machine out there.

I at one point go into a back-and-forth that I disagree with today's pronoun shenanigans.

The machine found me, chewed me up, and spat me out.

Some instances, also, want to be their own echo-chamber, keeping out competing ideas.

Qoto.org is not one of those instances, it seems. I see a lot of good discourse.
