Hello nice #fediverse people!Today in the morning there were some rage again #pixelfed again - this time because they included insights/analytics shit.That's more than enough!The fediverse should stay free and open forever as an big nice community without tracking shit and also without brands, businesses and influencers who should have needed that insights shit.But did you know that #pixelfork is a thing now?It's meant to remove that tracking shit and respect the wishes of the community much more.For example there will be an federated timeline,the fediverses best feature which everybody likes.Are you interested in "Federated image sharing - Improved"?The official project account is at https://social.avareborn.de/@pixelfork and the Git repository is at https://notabug.org/pixelfork/pixelfork .Please note that the development will start as soon as Dansup releases federation support for Pixelfed so there's not that much to see now.

@nipos do you have a source for this "shady" analytics code? What else did happen before? I don't know about this issues, and they don't appear on their github.
You are free not to follow them, but I don't think the #pixelfed people (basically @dansup ) deserve all this rage. If you have different design decisions just fork it and move on in peace.
