Finally, when imaged at a different wavelength, sunspots ("Active Regions") can be observed in the #photosphere, which is another layer in the sun's surface. The telescope shown was the one used to take the image.

Here's a closer look at a big #solar #prominence that showed up this morning. These events are relatively short lived, and disappear/shift out of view after a few hours...
