@HyperadaptHyrax wonder how much nations and regions impact this notion, since most the studies were done in States, which from the get go is quick bias towards gender. If these same studies were done in east Asia or Europe, would one get the same results?

@barefootstache always good to worry about generalizing across societies, but I suspect some of the mechanisms / stereotypes at work in the US would also apply to university contexts in east Asia and Europe (perhaps even moreso in some of those societies)
