Zoom Video, una herramienta de videoconferencia que debes evitar si te preocupa la privacidad

@distrotube@mastodon.technology thank you for your opinion. I agree with most of what you said ─just one option, Ubuntu-based LTS─, except for Ubuntu's election: I don't think Gnome Shell offers the best transition for a Windows user, and I personally think Linux Mint Cinnamon or Mate (depending on system resources) is friendlier in these situations. And I also think that there's a cutting line in these conversion processes: anyone that cannot deal with an indication like "everythink you find on the web referring to Ubuntu is aplicable to you Linux Mint", is probably not able to even check the web for information about technology, and won't probably be a Linux user for so long unless you offer him/her endless support, so it doesn't really matter the name of whatever you install in his/her computer.

Many proprietary software companies are currently using the extended homeoffice situation of many employees to offer lock-in solutions gratis or even labelling them as "free". But take care to build on Free Software. Else your solution today might turn into a burden tomorrow:

@datenteiler thanks for your testimony, Christian. I'll muster courage to try again (I'm using Leap too).

@norbert
I agree: I bought my current device because it had LineageOS support, but they ceased that support just a year and a half later, even before the manufacturer. Fortunately, I'm now happy with CarbonROM, which supports even my old mako device. Recommended.

A question for users: is packagekit (e.g.: system tray updater) currently installing updates the right way? I've been updating the system via zypper for years, because I had serious problems updating via system tray updater in the past... and I haven't dared to try again...
