As a book lover (to perhaps an obsessive level, I admit), an ex-bookseller, writer (of hopefully reasonably accessible academic books) and a voracious reader, I find the results of this survey on reading depressing & disheartening.
Half of all adults in the UK do not read (books) for pleasure....
To some extent the age is unsurprising; I think people often rediscover books once the forced reading of school fades from memory; but even so....

@ChrisMayLA6 @bookstodon Reading was a habit that I developed as a child and has remained with me ever since. For many today their priorities have changed.
