There are some open source cameras out there, but no 35mm format that I could find that can utilize existing lens mounts. To ensure interoperability without complete redesign, the lens mount focal distance is parameterized. A Nikon F2 viewfinder pentaprism and F/F2 focusing screen in the current design, but the viewfinder mount is swappable to allow for other options.
