Yesterday was sure a great day to move into Brooklyn...
Couldn't have timed it any better. I kept thinking I was wearing my sunglasses because of how orange everything was.
Thankfully still had a ton of n95 masks, so it was manageable. Then almost getting a ticket from double parking the U-Haul, was not the best of days.
But hey, at least it's over with now
Got a free Nikon F3 from someone who passed away, was curious as to why the light meter was borked
Well this certainly explains it. The ASA/ISO glass potentiometer has a crack in it (left side). Quick check with a multimeter shows it is indeed a problem, even though it doesn't go all the way through
At least this is a popular enough camera that parts are available, and old enough to have a repair manual available online. Nice to see that troubleshooting steps and causes used to be available.
What do you mean this isn't a finished product? The cable connections are all there...
Wait there's firmware to write? Nah, who needs that
Alright, another board done. At least they mainly get simpler since it's a lot of connectors
Plug in one to another, see if it explodes :p
One board populated, not even a ton of parts, and I already feel kinda done for today
At least I can start testing out the circuit
On the bright side, doesn't look like there are any shorts
