that's honestly one of the worst, most wrong takes i've read in a while, sorry.

you have the choice to either accept the terms of GPL or use something else. nobody forces you to use GPL licensed things.

the GPL is perfectly fine in the EU and was enforced already.

if you want to have your libfoo licensed so that google can rake in even more profits using your work, you can license it differently. e.g. mozilla public license does what you describe, which might be fine for some cases.
