i should use a pleroma instance. if only just for the guilt by association with evil free speech nazis xD

@bonifartius there's many out there, if you know anything about coding you could make your own space, there's plenty of ppl willing to help self hosted instances

@Elfie i mean, i'm happy here on qoto. was more a take on a post i saw today where someone spew some guilt by association bullshit regarding pleroma, based on that pleroma devs don't add their favorite censorship tools against "harassment".
some people should question if basing their whole (online) existance on parading sexual orientation and problems may lead to attracting trolls. as they always like to note, free speech also means that you have to deal with the response. you don't deal with the response by demanding of others to censor away people who disagree or troll you. you deal with the shit yourself.

Entschuldigung für den Screenshot, es wurde gelöscht :jahy_cry:

@Elfie hab ich auf jedenfall schonmal irgendwo gelesen die behauptung :)

@bonifartius @Elfie Pleroma is also just better software. Ignoring the much leaner profile (that, granted, I've only heard of - I haven't actually run either myself), it has reactions instead of just favourites, no attachment count limit, 5k default character limit (configurable - though I think you can on masto now too? Just set it to 50k and forget about it), and a bunch of other stuff I forgot about right now. Pleroma does what mastodon't.
It doesn't have working webfinger though -.-

Anyway, just make a dozen alts and use them all for different things. Any non-retarded fedi client will have proper multi-account support.

@Zerglingman
if i selfhost it will be something mini
al like honk :P

qoto has many patches now, text limit is >50k etc. and some other quality of life features like pinning remote servers timelines which is pretty nice. pleroma also doesn't seem to be awfully easy to host in a stable way, i have seen some people who had database fuckups etc.

i just think it's really bullshit to call software "nazi", it's a tool. tools don't have political opinions.

@Elfie

@bonifartius @Elfie >tools don't have political opinions.
Unless it's wokie nigger shit, in which case they shove their throbbing opinion straight down its throat.

>pinning remote servers timelines
I should add that to my client. It can already pin random users, why not public TLs too?

@Zerglingman @Elfie
sure, if it's shoving trans flags into your face, it's political.

i don't see that pleroma ships with nazi flags. :)
