@bonifartius I wish I was knowledgeable enough to know the differences between them. I understand that there's far fewer varieties of poisonous wood-eating fungus. Would probably be a good place to start.

would be great to know more about them, yes. my previous try of cultivating mushrooms on wood sadly didn't work at all.
