it's a bit square but if you want to meet new people who you get along with, join a club about something interesting to you. at worst you can try a new hobby.

@bonifartius@qoto.org Not sure if this holds true for other countries, but many public places like libraries often have small recurring events with a very low barrier to entry to check out. My local library has a bi-weekly event for cooking together, and another one to take a walk around the city. Such places and events are great for meeting local people that share an interest with you.

@tyil good idea! i think something like this exists in most counties here in germany. adult education centers might also be a good place to look, especially in more rural areas.

my friendships did take a severe hit by the covid bullshit (and by life changing in general), but i met some nice people in a club who seem to be like-minded. most people are also pretty happy to see new faces!
