In 1978, I had a 2 week internship where the guy had one of those lead-melting typesetters. Although I was far too young to operate it, some of the slabs went into the Heidelberg "Windmill", which he did trained (like 15-30 minutes) me to operate. It was pretty cool. His press was from the 1920s, but still running well.

The coolest things was when printing serial number cards. One missed print, stop, revert counter, go.
