this is an absolute bullshit error and #1 reason why i am tempted to just not use firefox anymore.

@bonifartius Only happen to me if I double select too much.
I've seen this happen on ff for windows due to websites abusing JS/web-workers. And even some addons.

@mangeurdenuage i think it's something (i think it might be dbus) getting stuck somewhere - it works for some time and then it doesn't at some point. it's really annoying if you can't open links from outside of firefox anymore. i can't really reproduce it, which makes it even more annoying.

@mangeurdenuage BUT i could maybe try to disable some addons as changing profile fixes this problem :blobcatthinking:

i just want to open links please :tiredcat:

@not_benis it's not a stuck firefox instance. it's firefox running and then deciding to lose connection to dbus or something, proceeding to shit itself. killing and restarting doesn't fix it, using another profile does. it's annoying.

@bonifartius @not_benis I guess it has some PID file somewhere and you have to delete it before starting a new instance. strace can help to find ouy what it looks for to fix it. or maybe it allows multiple instances somewhere in settings, possibly.

@iron_bug @not_benis there is a lock file in the profile directory, but that's properly removed when exiting. i suspect it's a dbus problem of some kind.
