i'm not convinced of it myself but this thought popped into my head: what if birbflu really is a killer and covid just was to psychologically prime people prone to be dissidents into not trusting anything anymore, now filtering them out with something really deadly?

would mean the elite really was clever, had a long game and wasn't constantly infighting. so probably not
