@anemone I assume though that they don't have a fully-modeled economy that accounts for incentives to build buildings? just guessing
@anemone @lain a central planned economy now that there are computers and internet would be interesting to try but it should be in like a autonomous region that people choose to join as an experiment
@anemone @lain central plan and people can't leave has been tried

@sun @anemone @lain funny how capitalism radically improved life standards for everyone, yet the people who are the proof of it think they'd be better off with central planning and forced participation.

@bonifartius @sun @anemone @lain Some stuff has to be planned at large scale for regions sometimes. For example France post WW2 had a reconstruction plant for all it's industry/agriculture and it went well at the time.
These days we need for example in agriculture a planned shift towards a slow move to non synthetic (organic) agriculture, same for raising cattle. But some people just insist on wanting to let the ""invisible hand"" of the market do it's stuff while obviously little is happening, worse organic agriculture is going backwards due to external political/economical bs.

maybe, yes. agriculture as it is practiced currently isn't sustainable. neither economically nor ecologically. the invisible hand can't work if farmers live off of >50% subsidies of which most is paid to maybe a handful of big agriculture technology companies who do lobbying..

there was a report on german television about an ecological farmer who stopped applying for subsidies. he now produces milk and old varieties of corn and he seems to be happy.

i think planning and organizing is fine, it only has to be done by local people.

unfortunately the english term "cooperative" doesn't seem to match the german "Genossenschaft". Genossenschaften are a good idea.
