@FortyTwo @Sophistifunk holy shit, man... You gotta come to central Italy one day. I'll feed you some real food 😂

@ThatCrazyDude @FortyTwo @Sophistifunk I am glad you fuckers export your shitty albeit to us formidable surplus. Wine, artichokes, Cynar, tomatoes olives and olive oil. Half of my "diet" 😁

@CapitalB @FortyTwo @Sophistifunk dude! If you wanna save some cash, drive across the border and hit Rome. Prolly won't take you more than 20 hours behind the wheel (round trip) and you'll save a ton on wine. I'm getting 5l jugs of pretty darn decent red for 8 euros

@ThatCrazyDude @FortyTwo @Sophistifunk

Meh. 50c/km.

My parents found a family farm in Tuscany producing the very best oil we had ever while they were there. We order now a big package for a very small fee on top. We have the attitude that double the price of the local is worth it - and besides, they sell "premium" in stores here for more (!)
Wine? The cheap in Denner from (Southern) Italy is to cheap to meter (TM) here. Meanwhile I learned more Italian provinces on bottles than ever hehe :]

@CapitalB @FortyTwo @Sophistifunk that's a way to do it too. My whole point was that this kind of stuff is pretty darn cheap when you get it directly from the producer ;)

@ThatCrazyDude @FortyTwo @Sophistifunk

Except the artichokes. They are 1.- while in season and I leave it to the professionals importing and sorting them.

I don't even know if anybody else eats them outside of Italy/Spain/France/CH

@bonifartius @CapitalB @FortyTwo @Sophistifunk well, you're no socialist, so clearly you're an oddball in Germany nowadays 😂

@ThatCrazyDude @bonifartius

I have to chime in haha While not in Germany I know many lefties who appreciate them. Though the majority who likes them is older. There you have it...

In summary, we all eat what we like but these are a turbo charger for the liver. And I mean it. Eat them two days in a row and beer is like water a week away.

I wonder if they cure certain ahem state sanctioned ahem ailments. Celery alleviates sars and influenza. This I read in papers. So...

@CapitalB @ThatCrazyDude even germans don't like the socialists. only big cities continue to be a problem.

yes, artichoke is pretty good for the liver AND tasty. what's not to like!

@bonifartius @CapitalB I'm kinda thinking that moonshine (guess it's schnapps in german) is way better for the liver. It exercises it real good. You know, kinda, like, liver CrossFit 😂
