i'm gonna say it, pleroma instances that intentionally restrict public posts from showing for logged out users when you click on the original URL is hostile design, anyone who does this should get slapped
you could at the bare minimum put a "this content is hidden" but they can't even afford that

@shibao apparently it brought servers down because the scrapers didn't throttle their shit while scaping

@bonifartius@qoto.org damn if only there were literally any other solutions like robots.txt or blocking user agents or literally just putting an error message when you intentionally break functionality on your site

@shibao i'm annoyed by it as well, but i can absolutely understand if someone doesn't want to implement defensive measures which are trivially worked around or ignored. a better message would be good, yes.
