@bonifartius no need to use the Hurd, GNU Linux-libre is fine too.

@tusharhero i refer to that people have issues when others not want to partake in whatever wheel is reinvented today and often resort to attacks on the person.

freedom isn't popular anymore, not in computers, nor in real life. except for LARPing purposes where it is always invoked.

for software it's breaking software interfaces on purpose to make things more hard for others, then declaring "it's free software, fork it if you want". which is technically correct but morally wrong. on purpose.

for real life it's one one hand relentlessly talking about how free everyone is in the west and how much freedom of opinion people have here. then, at the first chance there is, fear based mob rule takes over. draconic steps are taken against those who don't partake or who dare voice their opinion.
