guess i got the razorblade throat variant of the chinese flu. 38°C fever, shivering and legses did hurt like shit last night, but that's gone now. bit of a sore throat, propolis seems to work pretty well against it. can recommend. easily my most favorite remedy i learned of in the last year. thinking about starting beekeeping.

@bonifartius TIL about propolis, thanks. Going to buy some to try for my next cold

@w got mine from the beekeeper we buy honey from. it's solved in alcohol, but is nearly insoluble in water. really remarkable stuff!

if you aren't allergic against it, it likely won't do any harm. treating the sore throat was an experiment :)

@CapitalB onion sirup works well too! cut an onion add sugar or honey and let it sit over night, drink the resulting sirup.

pain medication is useful if used sparingly. my parents didn't give me anything when i had splitting headaches as kid (maybe migraine?). really not cool. wouldn't use paracetamol though, it doesn't work well for me anyway. headache is the one pain i can't deal with.

what i found helps really well with headache is liberal application of mint oil, having things readjusted by osteopathy and living a life _i_ like, not what is "expected" by others. so it's very occasional now that i take any medication.
