@iron_bug @freemo
Disrespecting a country doesn't mean hating all of it's people.

In fact one could argue that equating all the people with their country is the far worse sin.

You can hate China, Russia, the US, or whatever country for what they are doing without hating every single citizen of these countries.

@DCR ich verspüre eine gewisse müdigkeit was interessante zeiten betrifft :P

>We should add a new language to the Linux kernel that has no idea what dynamic linking and C ABI is, has no standard to follow and still has breaking changes in minor releases
>Complain when Linux maintainers refuse your code changes

It's been more than 15 years and the language still doesn't have a stable standard library with specs set in stone, no ABI for other languages, requires experimental builds to be functional in a kernel and Rust Linux devs will still complain that someone doesn't take them seriously.

Of course not. C++ was more standardized and functional when it was introduced to Linux for a short period of time. Rust will eventually be the same. It's too hard for hardware-level programming, because the language purposefully makes it harder in the name of memory safety which is only half-true.

A statue of Ea, Akkadian god (Sumerian god Enki) of water, dated Old-Babylonian period (2004-1595 BC). Ea is enthroned and holds a cup in his left hand, the right hand has been lost to time. He is accompanied by two creatures (half human and half fish) reclining at the throne base.

It was Confiscated in the 1990s; illegally excavated by plunderers. Probably from Nasiriyah, Southern Iraq.

A specially-crafted IPv6 packet can let you completely own a Windows 10, 11 or Server. The only solution right now is to completely disable IPv6

@deprecated_ii well, the $10000 toyota isn't coming to europe or usa because of bullshit safety regulations. i bet they'd love to sell here it if it made any sense.

MUCH better now. Flag parts, "leroma" letters L and i's line are held up by glue. Letter P and rest of small letters are held up by friction.

Really wish I could 3d print glass-like stuff but I guess nope until I get a resin printer.

Disrespecting a country is one of the fundemental purposes of free speech, one could argue the only reason it is needed at all.

@Czerion @DCR das waren aber tatsächlich zwei wichtige lektionen für mich, mit der schuld und dem opfer sein :)

@DCR .. klingt nach "leben in interessanten zeiten" 🤪

Anyone have that gif of mastodon having projectile diarrhoea

Looking into the Hanseatic League. From what I gather, decisions were made by consensus rather than majority vote. There was no standing army or fleet but they would hire armed citizens for protection from pirates etc. They had private courts, which had no right to coerce but could for example exclude a merchant from the league. #voluntaryism

in case you are wondering why i'm currently "multihoming" here and @bonifartius@noauthority.social , i have some fringe technical issues here, like i can't follow a few accounts, and some posts with images don't show up. on noauthority i miss some people from servers which block nas, character limit is 500 and some other QOL patches qoto has like quote posts, pinning remote timelines, follow by rss, etc.

this in no way means i'm complaining about qoto or nas. i'm really grateful everyone giving me a home by providing services. i host some smaller services for a handful of people and even that is stressful.

thanks! :ablobcatheart:

Sumela, a Monastic Complex, dedicated to Virgin Mary; built within Pontic Mountains, Maçka district, Trabzon Province in modern Türkiye.

According to legend, Sumela Monastery was founded by two Greek priests named Barnabas and his nephew Sophronios, who built the section in 386 AD, which comprised first two rooms of monastry in rocks, during reign of Roman Emperor Theodosius I (379-395 AD) who is also known as Flavius Theodosius.
