I am contracting a Common Lisp hacker for low-level work of choice:
-better thread scheduler, coupled with bare NUMA awareness
-a compiler optimization, like moving type transformations into the backend or adding the peephole pass
-TLAB support (I have most of it written)
-Making the thing boot on real hardware with PCI device detection (i.e no skipping with no-detect or UEFI boot)
-Overall fixing the driver subsystem so things like specific device combinations in QEMU don't crash
-NVME driver (could re-use virtio-block code, probably needs the two before)
-basic GLSL->TGSI compiler (needed for Trial port)
-concurrency subsystem improvements
Will pay up to $300, XMR only (unless you live in CIS), can do upfront if you have reputationn

Last night I switched the GBA bitmap to be 8-bit paletted rather than 16-bit color to free up VRAM for sprites.
The tool that converts the image seems to do that wrong, it makes the palette entries RGB rather than BGR, so the color of skin is blue instead of pink. That has to be a bug, but can I really be the only person who has noticed this so far?
The solution is just use imagemagick to switch the channels:
> convert intro-8bit.png -channel-fx "red<=>blue" output.png

"federation is too hard for npcs" and removing the unique selling point leaves "not big tech". people who don't want big tech will do the legwork of understanding federation. removibg the best parts selects for asshole users.

Got it working in C, and running on real hardware! But in the process figured out what I was doing wrong in Zig.
I'll probably be going back to Zig after this because It's been kind of unpleasant using C again. Got used to Zig real fast.
