@meinemeinung ich seh das erste mal nen bild von dem, da kommt die depression ja aus den augen gefallen.

@Suiseiseki yes. it's totally nuts. southern euros drink wine by the gallon and seem to be pretty healthy regardless of it. it's the mrna. i've seen so many bullshit things in the last months which are blamed for cancer now, but mouthwash is #1.

WaPo, a politically active publication owned by the third richest billionaire in the world, running articles warning about politically active billionaires will never stop being hilarious

lol, according to german state media alcoholic mouthwash can be responsible for cancer.

they really are grasping the last straws right now.

The strategy is this: move my pinky finger.

That's literally it. I know lots of more advanced strategies around "getting started is harder than getting going" but they often require multiple steps and a bunch of thinking, which just feels overwhelming and impossible. So I pretend that "twitch my pinky finger" is step 1 on that list, and I just do it, with no particular thought to step two.

It obviously doesn't *always* work, but the hit rate is shockingly high.

its odd cause in the 90s and early 2000s we just did a lot of shit that would be considered 'woke' now but not too may people cared that much. adventure games were designed by a woman? :comfystoner: cool. sierra games were good. black-made comedy? :comfystoner: cool. funny jokes. tons of white people took their kids to see it.

like they had everything damn near close to figured out before the new rounds of performative bullshit came around to ruin it all.

When you realize being reluctant to support the war machine is worse than committing war crimes.

nicely shortened quotation. let's see a bit more context.

> Pacifism is objectively pro-Fascist. This is elementary common sense. If you hamper the war effort of one side you automatically help that of the other. Nor is there any real way of remaining outside such a war as the present one.

so you see a truce as a way to "help one side" instead of a way to not have more people die.

what an utterly rotten thought.

but let's continue with the article you linked (written in 1942!):

> As an ex-Indian civil servant, it always makes me shout with laughter to hear, for instance, Gandhi named as an example of the success of non-violence. As long as twenty years ago it was cynically admitted in Anglo-Indian circles that Gandhi was very useful to the British government. So he will be to the Japanese if they get there. Despotic governments can stand ‘moral force’ till the cows come home; what they fear is physical force.

another warmonger, shouting with emotionless laughter about those who still have a soul.

india was independent in 1947.

@aighead as teen i once was cycling at night, looked to the side and saw the faint image of an owl gliding along, without making a noise. that was very cool :)

Oh yeah! I finally got an owl! I've lived here for 8 years, in the middle of nowhere. I hear owls constantly but haven't seen one. The smoking hot wife asks if I want to go for a walk, I say no, then yes.

This bard (?) owl was sitting in the tree watching us. It passed on a rabbit, but watched me, from about 20 feet away.

I feel so full of hope. Everything will be okay. In a world where everything can menace a man, and he cheat death, we really can do anything so long as we are dedicated enough.

Life is a calling to a beautiful enterprise. Find that one which makes your spirit sing and pursue it without relent.

I am not an American, I do not like Trump particularly much for anything other than a performing monkey.

But this one pic of trump; standing strong, absolutely defiant, fist aloft. The secret service clinging to him as if he were a rock in a raging sea. Behind him is the sky; limitless & all ecompassing. The american flag waves above him, almost appearing to float in the air, held aloft by his will, and upraised fist. Spared only by a brief turn of his head.

That is what Divine Mandate looks like. This image is what it would look like to see Aurelian crowned Restitutor Orbis. This is a moment of sublime, transcendent beauty, captured forever in a lens.

What a wonderful, tantalizing image. It reaches into the soul, whispers in its’ ear ‘This could be your nation, too.’

The United States of America is the only extant nation that could ever lay claim to be the Inheritor of Rome. What delightful political drama.
