kids and guns are iffy for me. We always had them growing up and were taught proper respect and handling. But some kids just aren't ever going to be responsible enough to have a gun in the house unsecured. And you don't necessarily know, the kid you think you could trust surprises you and does something stupid. Kids are stupid.
Take your kids hunting and target shooting, teach them firearm safety and responsibility, but probably keep the guns locked up when not in use. Hiding a handgun is not good enough, your kid will find it.
