Contrary to popular belief, Graduate School is in fact one of the most sexual, kinky experiences possible. You are literally making a 24/7 power exchange with your "Advisor" (nerd speak for mommy/daddy) who controls your funding, schedule, social life and self worth, often in a blatantly abusive manner and you have to endure all the public humiliation, hazing and subservience with a smile, or at least muted grumbling. Your "spare" time does not exist; every moment will be spent writing, sweating in the lab, doing hazardous field or practicum work the net effect of which is to make you feel like a completely stupid, useless whore for the academy, which is effectively what you have become. Sometimes your Advisor will take you to conferences where you will get to run free with the other scholarly puppies of other professors and (most importantly) get to drink yourself into a stupor with other people who've made this astoundingly brilliant life choice. At the end of all this, you will be forced to endure a public humiliation ceremony determining how much of your soul has not been burnt out of your body; if you are adequately empty, your Advisor and the other "doctors" (latin word for lich) will ceremonially remove the rest and put it into a phylactery (PhD Diploma). (If you're a master's student, only half of your soul is removed.)

STOP SAVING DAYLIGHT

* CLOCKS WERE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE CHANGED TWICE A YEAR

* YEARS OF 'SAVING' yet NO NET GAIN OF DAYLIGHT

* Sunset keeps getting earlier by a few minutes per day, which is sad but we can adjust to it, but then BAM we are all supposed to change the clocks so that it's suddenly A FULL HOUR EARLIER and it's PITCH DARK AFTER WORK what the hell.
