@becassine @Arty24 @Nazz Good, you should be aware enough to survive the one you're smack bang in the middle of. I hope you survive the government maple syrup.

If you work for a wage, you are a wage-slave, a wagie. Why are you a slave? Because you have no other obvious choice but to work for a master. It is under coercion that you work, but with the illusion of free will. Your actions are always directed.

How? You believe that you need a house. You believe that you need a great many things for life, but it is a lie. It is a ponzi scheme... all of life. This construct called capitalism is the prison you've been thrust into from birth.

:fediverse: A gift for the project joinfediverse.wiki : a tiny cute barn owl mascot holding a book. I'll let Joinfediverse.wiki team name her. (if they like her, of course, I totally went 100% full initiative on this design, I love Barn Owls).

In the 2000s, I had the attitude “fuck all these web registrations! I’ll be damned if I’m going to register on every single website I need to interact on”. So now we have big centralized places like MS #Github exploiting ppl w/the laziness that I had 20 yrs ago. Ppl need to evolve to realize minimizing accounts is a Bad Thing™ when it means exclusively empowering tech giants.

@freemo

> doesnt stop them from trying.

And that would have been scoffed off in 2010, if someone brought up that "they" will try to stop Twitter, Facebook, ++

"Their" resolve is incredible, and eventually people give in, rather than stand for principles.

Dystopian end goal; Not allowed to run/own anything, incl controlling server instances on the Internet.

That's my long-term fear, why I "tolerate" everything on my instance. "Ban? Contact law enforcement first!"

@Hyolobrika @straw @r000t

@Shiroyasha @karolat Sadly this is true, however I would be quite surprised if it applied here. Which isn't to claim it's outside the realm of logical possibility but it's a risk estimate thing.

Generally that happens with pharmaceuticals and food additives and such. Things that you consume regularly and that interact with your biochemistry. The other notable one is scenarios such as building materials where there's an absolutely massive quantity of something that can dissipate gradually into an enclosed space that has a fairly low rate of ventilation overall.

With tooth filling there are two obvious factors. One is that it's a single application of an exceedingly small quantity. There just isn't very much of whatever it is to begin with, it's not like you keep going back to the dentist to get some more of it on a weekly basis or whatever.

The other is the chemistry. It's inert by design (once properly cured ofc). It isn't supposed to interact with your biochemistry because more broadly it isn't supposed to interact with *anything*. It needs to stay in place in order to do its job so if it was leaching out over time it would be dissolving away gradually and a tooth filling that up and disappears on you isn't fit for purpose I would think.

For a back of the envelope, figure its mass when it goes in versus 20 years later. The difference in mass spread out over that time period is the maximum dosage of whatever it is you might be worried about.

@Hyolobrika@berserker.town

The thing about people who hate free speech (and there are a lot) is that they arent upset that they need to **hear** speech they dislike, they are upset that other people are able to hear it (or say it for that matter).

So while it may seem a reasonable solution to me or you for them to just go to a moderated instance in their eyes it isnt fixing the issue that there are unmoderated servers out there.

@r000t

Join the marry movement, there are 3 main points:

-marry a good girl
-have children with a good girl
-if you're married to a good girl, live happily ever after

the timeline we're in:
people from around the world (russia included) in 4chan ukraine thread posting cats as countermeasure to gore, telling each other how much they miss their deceased pets.

a long, but recommended, read on why software licenses are a bad tool to enforce anything outside copyright-related issues, even if those issues are really important.
