re: trolls

Oh please, @bonifartius, don’t call @arefgee a social justice warrior. There’s nothing social or just about laying off a quarter of the employees while giving a 17% raise to the CEO who was already getting a seven-figure paycheck. Saying it’s misogynistic to criticize this, really, when a significant portion of the people who lost their job at Mozilla were women? Boi o’boi, @Mek101, I agree that this is some of the most hysterical and hypocritical take to defend Mozilla Corporation ever.

To be clear, I am grateful of Mozilla’s works on maintaining Firefox and I’ve been continuously using it over a decade, but I have zero sympathy with the corp’s executives when they were and are being shit on for their unethical and stupid business decisions.

Baby formula shortage seems like another example of reporting where it would be beneficial to tell people about the least bad way to ration and substitute formula instead of letting parents figure it out in a panic when the last bottle is gone.

Like you've got three days supply, the stores are empty, the doctors office has none, and Craigslist is a bust. Do you just proceed as normal for three days and then switch to water or what? But we can't tell people what's best or they won't try hard enough to drive 100 miles looking for more formula.

TIL that a lot of heatsinks are made with a process called 'skiving', which basically means 'scraping' fins out of the base material.

I always thought they were milled or extruded!

I'm designing simulated 3D cards for a different lenticular printing process, which only allows 2 frames per card. Here's a couple gif simulations.
This week's theme is "Jellyfish" because they're fun to paint and fascinating to watch (though I certainly wouldn't want to swim with them!) :blobcatthinksmart:

I've not engaged in this thread, so I think you mistagged me in your reply. But I'll add my 2¢ re: Firefox and Chromium.

I've been a Firefox user since 0.8, but recently switched to Brave. I made the switch partly over the CEO bonus and laying off Mozilla staff.

However vs Chromium, it's also,

1) Less secure:

madaidans-insecurities.github.

2) Less private:

privacytests.org

3) Less performant:

testdrive-archive.azurewebsite

I keep it around for Jitsi however.

@Elfie @arefgee @atoponce @bonifartius mfw mozilla was the social change because it was a quality browser that was open source and extensively modular :blobcatpain:
@arefgee
Social change directly defines the products though, if you put a gorilla in charge of browser you won't get anything done because... Because it's a gorilla

Being logical isn't opposing social change and putting incompetent people as project leader isn't social change, it's just dumb
