So originally #Pixelfed announced federation support for June this year. But since then they just delayed it and built more hype for it. And there have been more (missed) deadlines since then. I propose we stop calling Pixelfed a #Fediverse project until it actually implements that functionality.
@nutomic What protocol does it use? I've heard of it, though I don't use it since I can't see images very well.
@nutomic share.tube. That's what I couldn't figure out. LOL Is that the same for all instances?
@cambridgeport90 No, it's @ user @ instance, just like Mastodon. It is also shown in the Peertube UI.
@nutomic Ah ... I see that now. Though it's hard to follow them sometimes considering the button doesn't always want to activate.
@cambridgeport90 Which button do you mean? Maybe you should open a bug report.
@nutomic the one that allows for reading. after all, that reminds me. I need to find an epub extension for that. Any recommendations?
@cambridgeport90 Uh epub for Peertube? Are you using an app or program to access it? I don't know why you want an eBook file format from a video site.
@nutomic Oh shoot. I was replying to your thread about Firefox and reading. Sorry for the confusion.
@cambridgeport90 Peertube federation works perfectly fine, you can follow accounts from Mastodon like this: chrisweredigital@share.tube And you can view video comments, comment on videos etc.
With Pixelfed you can't even follow users on other instances from your Pixelfed account.
