Whoops? Forgot that accessing Spiceworks via Pritunl is kinda impossible. The encapsula security gateway blocks it. I can't remember if we ever tried to get them to fix that or not?

@Surasanji I'm following this conversation. I need to somehow obtain a green thumb. Every time I go near plants, touch them, they die.

Just a random thought: What if Microsoft's Tae began on Mastodon instead of Twitter? Remember her? You think she would have turned out as insulting up here as she did on the birdsite?

Thank you! I was just talking about that with my father a couple weeks ago, if we were to ever get another dog, we'd rather rescue one.

@jd I use Thanksgiving to remind God and Goddess that I thank them for everything. At least then, I can turn it into something useful. I was extremely saddened when I learned of the true story of Thanksgiving here in the US, as well.

Historian Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz on Thanksgiving: "It Has Never Been About Honoring Native Americans"
#Video democracynow.org/2016/11/23/hi
'...Actually, it’s never been about honoring Native Americans. It’s been about the origin story of the United States, the beginning of genocide, dispossession and constant warfare from that time—actually, from 1607 in Jamestown—until the present. It’s a colonial system that was set up.

There’s a sort of annual calendar for this origin story, beginning with Columbus, October 12. Why celebrate Columbus? It was the onset of colonialism, the slave trade and dispossession of the Native people of the Americas. So, that is celebrated with a federal holiday. That’s followed then by Thanksgiving, which is a completely made-up story to say the Native people welcomed these people who were going to devastate their civilizations, which is simply a lie...'

Got a question for @universalhub@twitter.com. Would you mind a fediverse bot being created to automatically spread your posts to the without someone having to crosspost from Twitter? And ... happy thanksgiving, by the way.

Happy thanksgiving to all our American listeners! Here's the latest episode of our "Smashing Security" podcast for you to digest before you tuck into the turkey.
