@boles It is! I didn't start out with Leda in mind, even, but when in playing with ideas I got to a classical setting, a woman, and a swan (it was initially supposed to be formed subtly by her hair), it emerged from the collective subconscious...
@ceoln AI Art is an amazing process, and those who don't think it is "real" art are not living in the future moment.
@boles Yeah, pretty much any attempt to gatekeep what "real" art is, is deeply suspect. :)
We need to get past that, so we can think about all the different kinds of creation there are in the world.
I'm happy to say I haven't seen much of the vitriol, but I understand that posting art made with AI tools to some of the big art outlets on the Web can get one lots of hate.
@ceoln Since I've started doing AI Art, my "NFT ART" friends have stopped interacting with me. They think I'm not a "real" artist. That inspired this article I wrote: https://bolesblogs.com/2022/11/13/how-ai-art-extends-our-originality-of-imagination/
@boles Excellent piece! And some really great standalone sentences. :)
I'm slightly surprised that the NFT Art cohort objects; weren't most of the original famous NFTs based on computer-generated apes and such? Maybe they look down on those also (I admit I do, haha).
@ceoln Yes, the 10k computer NFT "versions" are merely bits and pieces reconstructed. Others, however, claim their iPad-assisted Art is not "computer generated" and that it only their talent for drawing that creates the straight line. I point out that drawing tools on an iPad help the artist the same way the camera obscura did a long time ago. Art isn't about talent or ability but about creating the context to return the results you seek; and that's the real beauty, and some say, danger of AI.
@ceoln Super interesting work! It's a powerful story.
