The Joy of Cooking does not appear to contain A SINGLE RECIPE for butternut (or any other) squash soup!!!
I'm going to have to look at a dozen ad-filled annoying recipe sites, amn't I?

@ceoln I think this is my second or third version. I don’t think they invented butternut squash soup until the 90s. Lol.

@ceoln Pssst… don’t tell anyone: Butternut Squash Mac & Cheese 
(Basically, mix roasted, mashed butternut squash into your favorite mac & cheese recipe, pour into baking dish, top with panko, and bake until golden.)
