Friends and followers on the fediverse can disagree about points, but rarely do those disagreements get out of control. And if they do, you have tools at your disposal to deal with those disagreements.

That is true in the current environment, and I like it very much! :) The issue at hand is a proposed change to the environment, though, and one fears it might change that pleasant fact.

For that matter, the current implementation of quoted posts is just one example. Users are free to create their own implementations as well. 🙂
