I'm sick of white people and I am white people.
But I didn't speak up and even now I'm limited to vaguely complaining on not-twitter. Needs improvement. Maybe the only way is to literally write down scripts for the person I ought to be.
It's all <privileged group>'s job to keep other <privileged group>, your family, your colleagues, etc in check when it's safe to do so, at a minimum.

@coldwave

I added a diversity section to the Forum on discourse to share stories and articles on diversity in STEM the least we can do is be positive and share and try and encourage people to study STEM and promote the drive for diversity.

If that is NOT good enough then what DO people what and what are THEY doing to address lack of diversity.

I did this as it is the right thing to do, and it helps collate related schemes and initiatives.

@zleap Just to be clear I'm not complaining about anything on mastodon, I'm vaguely venting about a conversation I just had in real life, and criticizing myself for not doing enough when such an opportunity comes up.
What you describe definitely seems like a good direction.

@coldwave good point we learn from our previous actions / inactions. as long as we do that, and do our best to act, we are covered. We can't be expected to get it 100 percent right every time.
