Google's Chrome browser is more locked down than ever, introducing new tricks to inhibit extensions, collect even more user data for ads, and restrict access to content for people who use ad-blockers. eff.org/deeplinks/2023/12/year

Unfortunately, Firefox is not keeping up with web tech. They made the terrible choice to abandon PWA development, which is increasingly useful and important as a bulwark against proprietary app stores. Firefox by all rights should support this but they're now the only major browser that doesn't. Even Apple supports PWAs now. @FirefoxNightly @mozilla

@jpgaubier @FirefoxNightly @mozilla This was news to me given that PWAs are still supported in Firefox for Android. From what I can tell, a similar feature (SSB) was removed from the desktop version. I do agree that PWAs are a good thing and I do hope they remain supported on Android.

@collectedoverspread @FirefoxNightly @mozilla I'm referring to PWA SSB (single session browser) support, which Firefox abandoned. SSB is what integrates PWAs into the OS. Last I checked, PWA SSB was the first or second most requested feature in Mozilla's forum. A shame this is ignored.
