If you still need to watch an youtube video, you can use a proxy called invidious, it is free software and anyone can host it. You are usually still getting the video form the google servers but the fact that you are not running youtube's javascript makes it much harder to track you.
You are also not subject to the youtube algorithm deciding what you see.
It works very well with tor.

Another alternative is the program youtube-dl, it can download videos from basically any site, not just youtube.
You can pair it with mpv to watch videos directly from your desktop.
