Got progressive glasses for the first time today. They told me to wear them for two weeks before I decide I hate them, but... ok, the brain is plastic, and I know it can learn a lot of things, and I do like that I can actually see my phone without taking my glasses off, but still. Constantly changing perspective seems bad? What even are parallel lines I ask you?

@cocoaphony 😬 Mine are supposed to come next week, probably, and I get motion sick so easily. I'm kinda terrified, tbh.

@bigzaphod the optometrist who fitted me said she’d never wear them. I don’t find any motion sickness, but they do make the world seem to swim around like being on a ship so I totally get why they would do that to others. Slight changes to my head angle makes flat surfaces seem to bend and twist. And I have a pretty weak prescription. I don’t generally even need glasses.

@cocoaphony @bigzaphod I’ve had them for years and every time I get new ones I experience the same. I will say that after a couple weeks it *does* get better. But at first it’s very weird. Good luck.
