I think I’m going to move to a new Mastodon instance that supports editing. I’ve had some other issues with the official app and my instance as well (replies don’t show up for one).
This should be automatic (so I’ve read). I hope I don’t mess anything up as I’ve just gotten started here.
Any suggestions on which instance? Other gotchas? I was thinking keeping it simple and going with mastodon.social, but not sure if others are better.

On instance selection it’s a bit of a lottery and https://fedi.garden could help you choose an instance.
I’m on toot.wales because…Welsh and it’s a well run and moderated server. My wife’s on toot.community which she’s been happy with but YMMV
I use Ivory on iOS and it’s a great experience and no trouble editing posts.

@coperob I’m on dot social. It’s the biggest and gets new features soonest as it’s maintained by the developers.
It will federate with Threads when that’s a thing. If that’s an issue for you then another instance might be better.
