If you really care about #birds, keep your cat in, make sure windows are visible to birds, use less cards and lorries, ... and then, four orders of magnitude less effective: make sure wind turbines are bird safe.
Whenever the local anti-wind-turbine group claims they're worried about birds, ask them if they have a cat, use architecture or have a car.
