@bert_hubert We *know*, but SAP & OpenAI & MS hope to make money by peddling that lie to incompetent officials, and thus pay their lobbyists very well (if not the politicians somehow indirectly directly, which I'd never dare imply). :-(
@larsmb the worrying thing is, lots of (senior) people appear to be brainwashed and operating on a very weird model of the world...
@bert_hubert @larsmb This state of mind has a loooong tradition. Remember when PC = Wintel? There wasn't anything else. And then came Limux and showed that there was *indeed* something else and it got lobbied to the ground and finally put down.
This is *not* new. It's been around since - for computing - basically forever.
@bert_hubert @larsmb Even SAP. They might be from Walldorf, but they run on the same vendor lock-in paradigm as their big US brothers. Hell, they were founded by ex IBM people. 🤷
