Swarm intelligence help me please: I'm using for local name resolution in a mixed IPv4/v6 environment*. I tend to get a local name, e.g. server1.mydomain.net (which has an A entry only) resolved to the public IPv4 of mydomain.net. But only occasionally. Any idea what could cause this?

*) Which means apart from one or two cases where I'm unsure if the device supports IPv6 the reason that it's not fully IPv6 yet is mainly my lazyness. And no: not a productive environment. Don't worry.

@cweickhmann typical case when this happens is, when you have one of servers used by your machine forwarding to public view. Or server has own forwarders, not all forwarding to equivalent internal servers. Randomness is caused by speed of forwarder responding first. My guess is it is sometime forwarded to internal, sometimes to public view
