For about 2-3 years now, search engine results not only suck. They are abysmal. The only thing they do is guide you to a place you can buy stuff. If it's anything but, god beware "free information", it is invisible. You only land on wikis (real ones, not the Ai slop wikis) by serendipity - and certainly *not* because you were searching for it.
Just found a quite interesting Analog Design wiki page on transistor circuits. It contained all *but* the keyword I was looking for. And that's not an outlier.
This is the #SloppiethCentury and it suuuuucks.
@cweickhmann Even more than that… 3-4 years is only the part of the enshittification that's caused by stochastic parrots, but their enshittification is much older… Search engine stopped being efficient like 8-9 years ago, to force people to stay longer on search engines, in order to display more crappy useless ads to users (most people don't use ad-blockers…)
Ads are why search engine are shit… AI slop "only" accelerated already-existing enshittification, making a bad situation even worse
